  Title Build Your Own PV Module - MESEA / SEADS Workshop
  Location Columbia, Maine
  Description Learn how to assemble your own Photovoltaic module for producing electicity. Richard Komp has pioneered PV module production as a cottage industry in Nicaragua , Mali , and Haiti . In this workshop youʼll get to participate in assembling a 60 Watt PV module, utilizing the encapsulation process, developed in Nicaragua with Groupo Fennix. Depending on the number of participants, we will be making one or more 60 W modules, which are capable of charging 12 V batteries and thus are a good start for a small home or cabin PV system. This workshop is in conjunction with SEADS, non-profit group and will be held at "the solar camp at SEADS property in Columbia, Maine". John Burke, of SEADS will be co-facilitator. John has had many years of experience working in the solar field and is currently working with the ARC Center in Harlem, NY, developing a program to manufacture UL approved PV modules. Soni Biehl, treasurer of MESEA, has experience with PV installation / assembly and will be co-facilitator.

Date, Time and Site: Sunday, Feb. 17, 10am - 5 pm , Lunch included. Contact us if you are vegetarian or have other specialty dietary needs. workshop; Other dates will be added) The workshop will be held at the solar camp at SEADS property, 156, Sacarap Rd., Columbia, Maine.
Cost: $35; optionally, pre-purchase a 60 Watt module for an additional $300. (participation limited to 8 (eight) folks for the Sun. workshop, other dates will be added if necessary)

  Title Build Your Own PV Panel Workshop

What You’ll Learn: How cells and panels are made and how they work. If you don’t know how to solder, we’ll teach you that as well.
Time: 9 - 3 pm, Lunch included. Contact us if you are vegetarian or have other specialty dietary needs.
Cost: $55; optionally, pre-purchase a 15 Watt panel for an additional $80 or purchase a panel during the workshop

  Description Come to the hills of northwestern Nicaragua to help build a dream. In the community of Sabana Grande, Totogalpa you can witness a wave of environmental change and perhaps see a transformation in yourself. This 11 day course allows you to be immersed in the daily life of rural Nicaraguans by living in homestays and working alongside locals in their vision to create a solar culture in their community.

  Title Veggie Oil Car Conversion Workshop
  Location Lowell, MA
  Description Veggie Oil Car Conversion Workshop – Learn how to convert your diesel vehicle to run on multiple fuels and save thousands of dollars per year. In this intensive 1-day workshop we'll focus on converting a Volkswagen Jetta to run on used vegetable oil in addition to regular diesel or biodiesel. Students will participate in installing the conversion kit and will work side-by-side with veggie car guru Kenneth Oldrid and several automotive specialists. Ken is a conversions expert who runs his own company (GreenDiesel.net) and has taught workshops at numerous venues including Yestermorrow Design/Build School. Other veggie cars will be onsite for display and will provide students with an opportunity to see different conversion kits.

* Time: 8:30 - 5:00 pm, Pizza Lunch included. Coffee served at 8:30, course starts promptly at 9 AM
